Delivery of «Stoja»
On 15th February 2012 ULJANIK Shipyard delivered to the company United Shipping Services II yard 489 named 'Stoja', from the series of four contracted ships for the transportation of bulk cargo, having deadweight of 52,000 tonnes, length 189.90 and width 32.24 meters with propulsion provided by an Uljanik MAN engine of mark 6S50MC-C7 generating 8,600 kW at 121 rpm with which the ship will achieve 15 knots.
The delivery documents were signed by Mr. Silvan Kranjc, member of the Managing Board of Uljanik Shipyard, and Mr. Dragutin Pavletić, director of Uljanik Plovidba. After the signing of the document, the traditional raising of the flag was performed aboard 'Stoja'.
In constructing this ship Uljanik workers have set a record. Namely, from the launching and completion of all works onboard as well as sea trials, only 8 weeks have passed, i.e. two months, which represents an exceptional working success. It should be stressed that the best previously achieved result for such work in the construction of ships was a week longer than the time achieved for this ship.
The contract for the construction of 'Stoja' was signed on 18th January 2010, the keel was laid on 17th June 2011 while the ship was launched on 28th October of last year. As announced, 'Stoja' shall sail for her first working engagement by the end of the week.
This is the first delivery of six planned in Uljanik this year, related to which should be mentioned that yesterday the first Trailing Hopper Suction Dredger for the company Jan De Nul was launched. That ship has a deadweight of 26,000 tonnes, length 147.6 meters, width 30 meters and which will be able to suck materials from a depth of 50 meters. The ship and its working equipment will be driven by two main diesel engines, each having a power of 7,200 kW, while the total installed power corresponds to 15.65 MW.
